Our seniors have made it through to the final of the senior championship after getting past the stubborn challenge of Tir Conaill Gaels at Mcgovern Park on Sunday , missing Kevin Henry and Eoin Walsh following injuries picked up in the last group game the team added Oran Kerr and Caomhan Doolan to midfield with Killian Brady slotting in to the full back line , a cagey opening half saw us take a point lead after scores from Kevin McCarthy , Tom Waters , Caomhan Doolan and David Rogers but an early goal from TCG in the second half followed by a spectacular block by Keith Curran saw us spring to life .A fantastic Kevin McCarthy point was followed by another from Oran Kerr and then a one on one with Conor o Donoghue saw a great save from the TCG keeper to put the ball out for a 45 , this was converted by Sean Tucker to put us back in front and the game had turned in our favour , Danny Doyle added a great point from play and a breakaway score from Conor o Donoghue saw us go three points up , Sean added another free to take us four up and then it was a case of trying to manage the game , Caomhan was very unlucky to see his effort come back off a post and the ball staying in play gave TCG one more chance which they worked the ball up the pitch to get the ball in the net but this was ruled out for square ball to the frustration of the TCG contingent .The full time whistle soon sounded and was greeted with large cheers from the sizeable St Kiernans crowd , we will meet North London Shamrocks who beat Fulham Irish in the other semi final in Mcgovern Park on October 20th and will be doing all we can to take our fourth title .
