Peak season now for  a lot of the teams in the club and some mixed results --

The ladies just failed in their attempt to capture the Junior championship title in McGovern Park on Saturday 07th going down by 2-07 to 2-04 in a  very tight encounter , while starting well Wandsworth hit a  purple patch before half time  to really give us a lot to do , an early second half goal from Ailish Healy got us right back in it but a fortuitous goal from Wandsworth made our task hard again , Caitlin responded with a  goal from a  free kick but the clock ran out on us and we just came up short , another serious effort all year from all the players , management and everyone involved and rest assured their efforts will soon be rewarded.

The U15 boys had a comfortable victory over Parnells in the championship final and from the first whistle to the last the result was never really in doubt, an early goal from Daniel Flynn settled us and further gaols from Tommy(2) and Rhys put the result beyond doubt with lots of time left on the clock , Parnells stuck to their task but the gap between the sides was just too great , a great team effort all round so well done to all involved and the future is bright for this crop of lads .

The Junior men got the better of TCG in the semi final on Sunday 15th with  hard fought 2 point win , the margin should have been bigger but we seemed to keep them in the game at times despite never really looking like losing , an early Conor Reidy goal was ruled out for square ball but an excellent individual goal from Alex Carney gave us the lead our play deserved and we went in at half time when we  held a five point lead , TCG did not lie down though and kicked the first three points of the second half to reduce the margin to two , a settling score from Tommy Cosgrove followed by another free gave us the bit of breathing space and this was then followed by a red card to the TCG full forward for an off the  ball incident with Chris Morris , a Coalan Free opened up a  5 point lead again but TCG responded with a free of their own and we couldn't relax yet , a super effort from Coalan from a 45 ended our scoring and while now very deep in stoppage time there was time for TCG to nick a  goal in a scramble to set up a tense finish , thankfully the final whistle blew with the re start and the job was done , we now look forward to a final with Tara on Saturday 28th in Mcgovern Park

Senior Championship Round 2
St Kiernans 1-15
Fulham Irish 0-09

A strong performance from the seniors to make 2/2 in this years competition to date with one final group game to come , a cagey enough start changed when Fulham keeper Andrew Walsh was black carded for a third man tackle on Marcus Mangan and this was quickly followed by Fulham manager Lorcan Mulvey joining him the line after a red card for dissent , we held a five point lead at half time but felt this should have been more with two good goal chances being left after us -Sure enough Fulham used the wind well to reduce this to three with the first couple of scores of the half but Kevin Henry who was deadly from placed balls as was Tom Waters all day settled us with a score from distance , Fulham responded with another point from play but the game was probably made safe when Kevin McCarthy set up Danny Doyle to round the keeper and make it 1-09 to 0-06 , from there in Fulham opened up and scores from Sean Tucker, Tom Waters, two Kevin Henry frees and Tucker again made it 1-14 to 0-06 , Fulham had a glimpse of goal at the end but Dan produced a great stop to save the clean sheet and Oran rounded off our scoring for the day a strong performance but just a group game and we go again against Round Towers on Saturday

A solid all round performance by the lads and good to see minutes in Marcus and Oran after log lay offs .
