League Champions
Our Junior men's team secured promotion to Division 2 and became league champions for the first time on Sunday with a hard earned victory over Cuchulainn's in front of a good crowd at Barnet Lane , a fast start had us five points up with scores from Ali (goal ) , Sean Walsh and Kenny but a high ball favoured Cuchulainn's who reacted quickest in the square to prod home and brought the game back to a single point, we rallied again and scores from Paddy Ryan and Sean had us 1-5 to 1-3 in front at half time ,three quick scores from Kenny, Matt Tierney and Sean pushed us on again to go 5 up again but once again a high ball parried fell favourably for the opposition and they goaled to bring the game back to 2 points -1-08 to 2-03 , JP steadied the ship with a good score to push us three clear but they came again with two good scores to leave the minimum in it with eight minutes left , a crucial goal from JP gave us some badly needed daylight and despite Cuchulainn's trying to break down the defensive wall we held out to win by 2-09 to 2-06 , Captain Sean Kirwan lifted the cup and we can now look forward to the junior championship which kicks off on Sunday against North London Shamrocks .
The ladies will contest the Junior LGFA final on Saturday in Mcgovern Park against Holloway Gaels and we hope their great efforts this year will be rewarded on the day, the senior men's championship campaign kicks off against Round Towers in Greenford on Saturday at 3.00pm and we wish all involved the best , all fixtures and results will be updated throughout the championships .
Best of luck to all teams
