St Anthony's Reading 1-08

Our homegrown team got their season up and running with a spirited, dogged display against a strong , physical St Anthony side at Ruislip played in ideal conditions today .

At Half time we held a 3 point lead 0-09 to 1-03 bouncing back well from conceding a well worked goal mid way through the half , the second half saw Anthony on top for large periods but when we did settle towards the end we had enough in the tank to get the last 2 scores to get over the line .

We had a number of last years U17 team making their senior debut and they handled themselves very well namely Matt Mcgrath, Jack Hannon and Michael English

Best on the day were Dan Somers , Sean Mcgoldrick and Caolan Doyle , they now qualify to play against a very strong St Clarets team next weekend in the semi final which will bring this crop of players on again.
