Club Update

Five games played since the last update with two senior wins in Division 1 of the league against Thomas McCurtain's and Harlesden Harps to go second in the group with two to play against Round Towers and North London Shamrocks , the ladies won their fifth group game against St Anthony's to top the group prior to the summer break and have enjoyed a great season to date , the juniors went down narrowly to Neasden and were given a walkover by St Jude's and are still very much in the hunt for a place in the league final in Division 3 .The U15 boys lost out to a strong Tara team in the championship final in Mcgovern Park .

The senior team ran out convincing winners against TMC in Barnet Lane on Tuesday last and never looked in any danger from the first whistle , outstanding displays from Oran Kerr , Conor Ryan , Sean Tucker and Jerome Daly on the night eased us to a 1-21 to 1-04 victory , a much tougher test on Saturday in poor weather conditions at Mcgovern Park where we found Harlesden Harps a very tough nut to crack , we eventually did enough against a defensive side to grind out the result which in fairness never looked in doubt , best on the day were Hugh Conlon, Conor Ryan and Matt Tierney , as stated next up is Round Towers in McGovern Park on Tuesday 25th and these players have a league final spot very much in their sights .

The ladies good run continued with an impressive display against St Anthony's cemented by a strong first half display at Barnet Lane , some great performances all over the pitch especially Eilis , Caitlin, Maggie , Eileen and Norita , they have a good break now before the semi finals in September but im sure they will be still working hard to maintain the high levels they have got to so far this season .

The juniors went agonisingly close to a step in the league final only to be pipped by a physical Neasden Gaels on Thursday 20th at Barnet Lane , despite having most of the ball the concession of sloppy goals gave the visitors the gap they needed to see it out and we have now received 4 points from the last two games due to walkovers to leave us on 9 points from a possible 12 in the league and we now await the results elsewhere to see if this will be enough for a league final spot and a chance of promotion.

The U15 boys battled well before eventually succumbing to a sharp Tara side in the championship final on Thursday last , some very positive displays though and plenty talent for the years to come and its clear to see that they have all the core skills needed to progress in the years to follow. Underage Training for 7-11 is now finished for the summer and will re convene in the Autumn and U13/15/17 will be as directed by the management teams on the groups .

Finally the clubs is saddened at the loss of two supportive families to the lure of Home , Derek and Orla o Connor along with the boys will be re settling to Mayo and the loss of Luke and Patrick will be sorely felt after several great years wearing the black and white , added to this the news of the departure of U11 coach Mark Herlihy , Louise and their family To Dublin means we have big gaps to fill for the rest of the year and next season , we wish both families the very best in the move and the club would like to place on record the huge thanks for all their support and hard work over the years and what an asset they will be to any club they join in Ireland .
